Vigilance

It is important to remain vigilant during recovery. As hard as it is to realize, we have a disease that will always remain with us. It stands ready to pull us back again no matter how long we have remained sober. Our vigilance must be a daily practice. Just like the meerkat is always on the lookout for predator's, we must always be on the lookout for those disruptions and events that work against our sobriety. Each day we must do everything we can to guard our recovery. Daily prayer, spiritual practice, and meeting attendance are all good tools to use. Stay vigilant.
