Lea Wait

Lea Wait was born on May 26, 1946 in Boston, MA. She was an antique print dealer and
novelist, writing children's fiction and mystery novels. She wrote more than a dozen books.
Shadows at the Fair was published in 2003. It was Wait's first Antique Print Mystery; there
would be eight in the series, all featuring Maggie Summer, an antique dealer and community
college professor. The book was nominated for an Agatha Award for Best First Novel.
Publishers Weekly said the book had: ". . . fascinating information about antiques and
antiques fairs . . . plus helpful maps and careful directions for finding one's place in the
crime scene; this solid debut will appeal to cozy fans who appreciate a realistic background."
