Addiction affects not just us, but those closest to us, too. We used to have unrealistic expectations of our family and friends, leaving us angry and disappointed when they found other interests. It was often impossible for us to establish and maintain a healthy, mature, intimate relationship when we were using. Now. we realize that drugs can't fix us. Other people can't fix us either. Talking with people in the program, we learn about this aspect of recovery. Loving relationships can be a reality, as we apply the program to all our affairs.
