Being in recovery has given us more freedom than we had thought we would ever have. We no longer have to spend our days focusing on our addiction. We used to get into a routine of feeling unwell, trying to purchase drugs, searching for a place to safely use, winding down, and starting the cycle again. Today, we have something more than simple sobriety. We have a whole new life. This is something to celebrate and to share with God. The thankfulness is overwhelming. We have taken inventory and identified our defects of character that held us back from living a fulfilling life. We've surrendered our shortcomings and sought to live differently. We now have a personal relationship with God, who along with our friends in the program, guides us to make better choices. We are so grateful for each new day. Anything is now possible.
