Our motives when we were under the shadow of addiction were ruled by self-centeredness. In recovery, we learn the spiritual principle of goodwill. Rather than looking for only what we want for ourselves, we seek to serve others. We remember that it is important to do the right thing for the right reason. Guided by the Twelve Steps, we strive to apply the guidelines of recovery to all our affairs, with the help of God.
