Orson Scott Card

 


Orson Scott Card was born on August 24, 1951 in Richland, WA. He was a professor
at Southern Virginia University, playwright, poet, writer of short stories, nonfiction
and fiction, especially science fiction but also fantasy, thrillers, horror, historical
fiction, and biblical fiction. He has written more than 70 books.
Enchantment was published in 1999. It is a modern retelling of the story of Sleeping
Beauty, with time travel and magic evil forces mixed in. Amazon wrote that "mixing
magic and modernity, the acclaimed Orson Scott Card has woven threads of history,
religion, and myth together into a convincing, time-hopping tale that is part
love story, part adventure."
