William Schwalbe was born on July 13, 1962 in New York. He is a blogger, journalist,
entrepreneur, and author. He has written at least three books.
The End of Your Life Book Club was published in 2012. It describes the period when
his mother, Mary Schwalbe, returned from doing humanitarian work oversees feeling
unwell in 2007. It turned out that she had cancer. She lived for two years, and the book
documents how the author and his mother formed a "book club" to read and discuss
books together, sharing thoughts, memories, emotions, hopes, fears, and love. The book
was on the New York Times best seller list for over four months. Publishers Weekly wrote
that "with a refreshing forthrightness, and an excellent list of books included, this is an
astonishing, pertinent, and wonderfully welcome work."
