Elizabeth Gilbert

 


Elizabeth Gilbert was born on July 18, 1969 in Waterbury, CT. She is a journalist,
freelance writer, novelist, and writer of memoirs. She has written more than ten
books, numerous essays and short stories.
Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia
was published in 2006. It has sold over 12 million copies and been translated into
more than 30 languages. It was on the New York Times nonfiction best seller list for
more than 80 weeks. It was released into a film with the same film in 2010 staring
Julia Roberts. It details her experiences of traveling abroad for a year, and what
she discovered about herself as well as about the places she visited.
