Service

It is common for those who start in recovery to have very low self-worth. It has been the experience of those going through the program that being of service was the way they found to begin developing their self-esteem early in recovery. Helping to set up the chairs for a meeting, getting the coffee ready, greeting newcomers, all are necessary service activities. And to the addict struggling to get twenty-four hours clean, being able to talk to someone with even thirty days clean is sometimes the key to being able to make it one more day. Service is one of the tools that helps along the journey to building productive lives during recovery.
