Some of us had difficulty accepting the spiritual dimension of the recovery program. We had not grown up in a religious home and we had a general indifference or even intolerance toward the idea of God. But when we joined the program, others showed us that they had found that the spiritual principles had truly changed their lives. It pointed them to a new life of recovery. We came to learn that we can open our minds to the possibility that the spiritual principles might work for us.
