Marjorie Agosin

 


Marjorie Agosin was born on June 15, 1955 in Bethesda MD. She is a history
professor at Wellesley College in Massachusetts and author of books written
mainly in Spanish. She focuses on human rights and growing up in Chile.
She has written and edited over eighty books and articles, including poetry.
A Cross and a Star: Memoirs of a Jewish Girl in Chile was published in 1995.
This book is the first of a trilogy of memoirs about a Jewish immigrant trying to
fit into Latin American society. A Cross and a Star is set in the years before WWII.
