Daniel Gerhard Brown was born on June 22, 1964 in Exeter, NH. He is a musician,
middle-school teacher and author. He has written at least eight books.
The Da Vinci Code was published in 2003 and is the second in a series of mystery
thriller novels to include the character Robert Langdon, a professor at Harvard.
It explores the legends surrounding Mary Magdalene's role in the history of Christianity.
As reported in Wikipedia: "The book has . . . been extensively denounced by many Christian denominations as an attack on the Catholic Church, and consistently criticized for its historical
and scientific inaccuracies." It has sold over 80 million copies worldwide. It was made into
a movie by the same name in 2006 directed by Ron Howard and staring Tom Hanks.
