Jamaica Kincaid was born Elaine Potter Richardson on May 25, 1949 in
St. John's, Antigua. She was a professor at Harvard and the author of fiction,
memoirs, and essays. She wrote over a dozen books and articles.
My Garden (Book) was published in 2001. Amazon describes it as: ". . . an
